| When I was first given one, I was not impressed. OK... hexagonal shape reminiscent of the first mechanical pencils from pentel. Classic look.
The person that gave it to me simply said, "start using it. I guarantee that it will soon become your favorite pen." He was absolutely correct.
I had never heard of Caran D'Ache. It is all in their goliath refill. It is the best writing ball point on the market. Period. I now own several of these 849 Metal Clicks and four more elegant ones. |

| This is a great pen. I have a number of good pens by Lamy, Kaweco, Cross, etc. All are fine instruments I enjoy using, but I keep coming back to my 849. |
