Converter or ink cartridge?

Having never tried a converter in my Waterman fountain pen, I envisioned a mess of ink all over everything, and because my pen is probably 20 years old, I didn't think it would even fit. This converter fits perfectly, and works as described, I never spilled a drop of ink. Now the only time I'll use prefilled cartridges is when traveling.

So far it is, yes.

What is your opinion of the quality of this item?
Easy to use, no empty ink cartridges to throw away. I think anyone who uses a fountain pen is somewhat old fashioned anyway, and using bottled ink only adds to the attractiveness of the writing experience.

This is the first time I've ever used a converter, and it could not be easier.
