Overall What is your opinion of the quality of this item? I hadn't tried this pen before purchasing it, but the fine folks at Fahrneys helped me select the right pen, a sailor 1911 MF nib. I usually prefer fine, but I was guided correctly to up my nib size to MF. Though not an overly wet writer, it writes smoothy. Plus, it always writes - no hard starts or skips. It is lightweight, even when posted - and I always post, because it's not a long pen. It has become my daily go-to. Great pen, great company.

This is my first high quality fountain pen, but I am stunned at the quality of the writing experience. Smooth solid flow with just the slightest pressure. Hasn't skipped yet. It has me excited about writing anything by hand.I may have a new addiction Classic and beautiful Took a bit to figure the filling. Poor instruction page. Excellent. Gold Japanese nib at this price.
