Homage to Johann von Geothe
At the center of the intellectual awakening of the 18th
century, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a polymath,
giant of German literature, lawyer, government minister,
theatre director as well as a collector and naturalist. The
philosophical depth of Faust, the lyrical subtlety of his
poetry and the breadth of scientific exploration behind
his color theory and botanical treatises were of huge
significance and a testament to Goethe’s genius. With the
support of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and the Goethe C
National Museum it houses, Montblanc presents its
2025 Writers Edition Homage to Johann Wolfgang von
Goethe Limited Edition. In 1774, in a period of frenzied
activity, Goethe wrote The Sorrows of Young Werther in
less than four weeks, catapulting the 25-year-old lawyer B
to overnight fame. The young Werther put German
writing onto the European literary map. The Goethe
Writers Edition pens feature elements of his writings and
his house in Weimar including the shade of blue on the
precious resin cap and barrel and the gold and platinum-
coated fittings. The cap takes the form of a globe, crowned A
with the Montblanc emblem. The collection includes
the fountain pen with 18K gold engraved nib, capped
rollerball, ballpoint pen, notebook and ink bottle set.
